Work from home in sales and marketing

Do you have any experience in sales and marketing? A knowledge of social media? Do you have Facebook and Twitter accounts? If you have any of these qualifications then it is possible to work from the comfort of your own home as a freelance worker in sales and marketing.

First off I suggest that you sign up with a reputable online company which introduces freelances with companies who are looking to employ the services of home based virtual assistants.

One such website and one which I can personally recommend is Elance  which currently has over 1,792 jobs listed under the category sales and marketing. All of these jobs are open for freelancers who work from home and the majority of these projects are posted by companies looking for for social media marketing /engagement. These days freelancers are needed to help increase companies’ social media presence and to engage conversation on their Twitter and Facebook campaigns as well as increase followers.

Facebook conversations and 'likes' can be increased by updating company/brand daily news, sharing content and photographs. Also consider running competitions, offering promotions, click through to content, poll questions, thank customers for their 'likes' and ask followers to share their experiences of ‘brand’. Use Application integration and finally ask fun, everyday engagement questions on the wall

If you're thinking about freelancing with Elance, this is the book for you. It's easy to read and gives you the step by step guide to how to get started (successfully) on Elance. I was emailing friends with ideas for their businesses (and recommendations to buy the book) at less than halfway through reading it. Opened my eyes to a whole new world. Highly recommended.
